What sorts of housing are there?

At Brighton & Hove City Council, there are people who can assess your needs, and help you decide where to live. If you ring Access Point, they will be able to help you. The number is 01273 295 555.
You could also talk to the Citizens Advice Bureau. Their number is 0845 120 3710.

Housing Options Training
Housing Options runs a national programme of training and events. The focus is to ensure that people with learning disabilities achieve greater choice and control of their housing and support. Training and events are great value with reductions for Housing Options members. They have a number of low cost places on courses available to people with learning disabilities and family members.
The Autumn/Winter training and events programme includes a range of practical workshops, seminars and master classes in housing related subjects. They include:
- Introduction to housing choices for people looking to have their own/shared home
- "Hands off, its my home"
- An introduction to money and benefits
- Tenancies and mental capacity
- Housing Options Plans
- Working with Housing Providers
- Creating a new reality - a master class with Nan Carle
